REGARDING Eric Leaver's remarks (LET, May 30), because the Mayor of Hyndburn wears an earring, it does not make him a yob.
I have known Councillor David Parkins for 30 years and you couldn't find a nicer or more genuine person than he is.
He does a good job as a councillor -- so much more than most.
