COMIC Jonathan Ross got more than he bargained for when he met Radcliffe's Thai boxing world champion Jussy Lowe last week.

The verbally-challenged star was left "wed"-faced after the 26-year-old woman gave him a playful beating.

The former Coney Green High School pupil, who lives in Warth Fold Road, appeared as a mystery guest on Friday evening's comedy sports quiz They Think It's All Over.

And when "Wossy" and his team-mate, ex-England cricketer David Gower, donned blindfolds and tried to guess who Jussy was just by touching her, the fearsome fighter struck. Jussy said: "The show's producers told me to give Jonathan a bit of a beating so I punched him in the ribs a couple of times and kicked him in the leg. "He let out a bit of a yelp but I don't think I hurt him that much."

The pair soon realised that Jussy was a fighter and eventually guessed she was the world women's Thai boxing champ. After the show, Jussy went down to chat with the cast, which also included ex-England footballer Gary Lineker and host Nick Hancock.

Jussy, who won the world championship in April, said: "They were all really nice and we had a good chat afterwards. I had a great time and I think Jonathan did as well!"

She was chosen to appear on the show after its producers found the Bolton Thai Boxing Club website run by Sandy Holt.

They originally asked Sandy to appear, but when they learned that the club had a female world champion they changed their minds.

Jussy is currently filling her time running Thai Boxing classes for women on Thursday and Saturday evenings at the club in Brown Street, Bolton.

And she says interest in the sport has rocketed among women since she won her world title.
