AN ex-boyfriend set out to humiliate his former partner by licking her on the face when he bumped into her in a Longridge pub.

Blackburn magistrates heard that electrician Jonni Eastham then followed Zoe Jones from the Dog Inn, dragged her by the hair on to the car park and spat in her face twice.

Miss Jones told her friend to phone for the police and Eastham then spat in her face again and rubbed the spit all over her face with his hands before leaving.

Eastham, 26, of Parlick Avenue, Longridge pleaded guilty to assault.

He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £100 compensation to Miss Jones and £55 costs.

Wendy Shackleton, prosecuting, said the relationship between Miss Jones and Eastham ended two years earlier.

Miss Jones went into the pub shortly before 11pm and was standing near the bar when she felt a push on her shoulder.

Eastham said he was going to humiliate her and started licking her face.

He said she had ruined his life and then licked her face again.

Stephen Rees, defending, said there had been a very bitter dispute over the couple's child which had come to a head.
