KEEPING in touch with his beloved Leigh RL Club is easy thanks to the Journal, says Eric Harrison, a Leigh winger from the Mather Lane days.
Each week, 79-year-old Eric, from Platt Bridge, orders a copy of the Friday edition of the Journal, which at 20p, he reckons is a bargain buy that keeps him informed about all that's happening around the area, and especially down at Hilton Park.
"Well done and best wishes," was Eric's message when he popped in to our Railway Road office to congratulate the Journal and Leigh Centurions on their success over the past year.
Eric is an avid follower of Centurions and was delighted to meet present-day star Liam Bretherton.
The former Albion Foundry and Gibfield Colliery worker was a Leigh flier during the heyday of Peter Riley and co, before the postwar move to Hilton Park.
