TO my shame, I have to admit that I'd never heard Leigh's top folk duo, Gary and Vera Aspey, until Sunday when Billy Maher gave them a spin on his super Radio Merseyside Sunday Jukebox show.
There were the twosome sandwiched between late greats such as Elvis and Bobby Darin on the lunchtime show, a must for aging music fans. I loved their voices and the lyrics which looked back on the days dad sang songs they don't write any more. I've obviously missed a treat.
