LEE Sanderson turned in a five-star show with a hat-trick of tries and seven goals as Leigh's Alliance side thrashed third placed Oldham 54-18.

Sanderson ripped an experienced Oldham side to shreds as Leigh bounced back from a heavy defeat at Widnes. Included in the Oldham side were regular first teamers Andy Proctor, John Hough, Chris Farrell and Leo Casey.

Leigh dominated the game from start to finish and even coped with being down to 11 men in the first half when both Martin Meadows and Chris Halliwell were sin-binned.

Leigh's other points came from tries by Kieron Purtill, Alan Cross, Jamie Gass, Paul Norman, James Lomax, Chris Dootson and Simon Hartley.

Their next match is tomorrow (Saturday) when Workington Town are the visitors to Hilton Park, kick off 2.30pm.

THE Centurions' young Academy side clocked up their sixth wins from six starts as they hammered York by 62-12 away from home.

Leigh touched down for 11 tries with stand-off Alan Kilshaw collecting a hat-trick for the second week in succession.

The other touchdowns came from Chris Smith (2), Peter Fairhurst (2), Chris Humphries, Kieron Maddox, Lee Rowley and Peter Clark with Smith adding nine conversions.

Fairhurst took the man of the match award, closely followed by Martin Wilson, Ryan Baker and Kilshaw.
