EAST Lancashire workers who think going to university is out of reach can still give their careers an academic kick-start -- at Blackburn Rovers' Ewood Park soccer ground.
Rovers will be the venue for a drop-in day to launch a new university-led qualification aimed at equipping people with the technical and academic knowledge that employers demand in these 'flexi' times.
The Lancaster University Foundation Degree in Applied Guidance, the first of its kind in the country, combines extra work-place experience with academic subject study.
The drop-in day will be held from 4pm to 7pm on June 21 at Blackburn Rovers FC, Ewood Park. To register interest or to find out more contact Jayne McCarten at the Centre for Training and Development at Lancaster University on 01524 593318.
