STAFF and volunteers at the Help the Aged shop, in Market Street, Colne, are preparing for their Trash and Treasure day, which will be held on Saturday, June 16.

They have been collecting a range of old and new bric-a-brac for months to be able to offer customers a wide choice next weekend.

Any money raised on the day will be used to provide services such as Seniorlink community alarms and the SenoirLine, a the freephone advice line for older people and their relatives.

Shop manager Julie Tomkins said: "Our customers will thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to have a look at some of the items we have on offer and at the same time pick up a bargain.

"We have some fabulous pieces to sell and hope to raise some extra funds to help older people, especially those who are vulnerable, lonely or poorly."
