A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to hospital after a collision with a car on Blackburn Road, Ribchester.
Michael James Edmonton, 21, of Whinney Lane, Blackburn suffered serious abdominal injuries in the crash.
His Honda 400cc motorbike was in collision with the side of a Vauxhall Astra travelling in the opposite direction. Paramedics on the scene suspected he had fractured his leg, but it was later found he had serious cuts and bruising.
The North West Air Ambulance took him to the Preston Royal Hospital at 1.45pm yesterday.
Car driver of the car, Wilfred James Rhodes, 75, Haslingden Old Road, Oswaldtwistle, was not injured.
