A 24-YEAR-OLD Longridge woman was breathalysed after crashing into a parked car as she drove home from an after-work drink.

Blackburn magistrates heard that Catherine Louise Pye was more than double the legal drink drive limit after the collision in Chapel Hill, Longridge.

Pye, of College Close, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. She was disqualified from driving for two years and fined £150 with £65 costs. She gave a reading of 80 against the legal limit of 35 and agreed to be referred to the drink-driver rehabilitation programme which could reduce her ban by up to 25 per cent. Julian Peers, defending, said Pye was a lady of previous good character who, on the day of the incident, had been working at B&Q. After finishing work she went for a drink with colleagues and then met friends.

Mr Peers said she intended to leave her car, but plans had changed at the last minute.
