HARD working Clayton-le-Moors outfit Ten Stone Dead this week released their debut EP North to South.

The indie band, who are lead singer Pete Norman, guitarist Mick Bamford, bassist Johnny Briggs, drummer Dan Pinder and Rebecca Norman on keyboards, have spent the last five months working on the project

They demoed around a dozen tracks at Cue Music, in Darwen. But the final selection was re-recorded, with studio owner Skip at the helm of production duties.

Featuring four tracks, Just The Freedom, Not Today, Anyway?, Sunflower and Sulphur, this is a polished effort from one of the area's most-improved acts.

Definitely fitting into the nu-acoustic movement, TSD have also retained their love all of things Madchester with influences from the Charlatans and Stone Roses shining through.

The band have also built up a strong following in Yorkshire towns Ilkley and Skipton after spreading their wings and playing away from the local scene.

Already confirmed as a main stage act for this summer's annual Oakhill Park Festival, in Accrington, the band's EP is available from Astonishing Sounds in Burnley, Cubes Music, Accrington or at gigs.
