A COUNCIL worker had a lucky escape when the road sweeper he was using toppled over with him inside.
The man, who works for Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, was driving a Johnson street cleanser in the Huntington Drive area of Darwen, when the accident happened, at about 2.30pm on Thursday.
He didn't suffer any injuries and was sent home after the incident.
It is believed the accident was caused after the machine, which needed slight repairs doing to it, over-balanced after clipping a stone pillar at the bottom of the driveway leading to Astley Bank Hotel.
A spokesman for Blackburn with Darwen Borough council said: "It was a minor accident. The man did not suffer any injuries. The road sweeper needed slight repairs."
