AN elderly woman was tricked into letting thieves in to her house in Bacup as they posed as builders.
The conmen knocked on her door, in Rochdale Road, at around 4.30pm on Thursday.
Police said that once the woman let them in to her house one of the men asked to go to the toilet and went upstairs.
They then both left and the woman discovered her diamond solitaire ring worth £500 had been stolen.
The first man was described as a white male, 5ft 6ins, of slim build with sandy hair and wearing light-coloured trousers. The second man was also white, quite tall with light brown hair.
