A 'CUNNING customer' was how Countdown presenter Richard Whiteley described Colne's David Roe as he cruised his way through to his third appearance on the Channel 4 show.
The chartered accountant coolly fought off quality manager Susan Kavanagh by winning five and drawing two of the eight word and numbers rounds in last week's programme, resulting in a final score of 51-20.
David, who works for Ashworth Mould and Co, in Nicholas Street, Burnley, took part in the filming of the show in March but has been told to keep the outcome a secret.
He was cheered on by his work colleagues who were in the audience for the filming.
David said: "I was 27-0 up at half time because I had three good words which I wasn't actually sure about at the time.
"I think my opponent was slightly on the nervous side, although I didn't get any less nervous to say it was my second game but I was a bit more confident having done it before."
