I WRITE in reply to the letter the Riggle of Miggle (Dear Star, April 19), because I prefer Rudyard Kiplings Explanation for the linguistic phenomenon which also explains why people are so parochial and protective of their home town.
God gave all men all earth to love,
But since our heart's are small
Ordained for each one spot should prove,
Beloved over all.
That deeper than our speech and thought
Beyond our reasons sway,
Clay of the pit whence we were wrought,
Yearns to its fellow clay.
