A TEENAGER who failed to meet a community service order was given a last chance by a judge - who assured him custody awaited if he didn't take it.
Judge David Pirie, who had already given Anthony Sanderson, 19, two opportunities to finish the 80 hour order, told him the defendant seemed to think the court was bluffing, but he could assure him it would be detention if he appeared before him again.
He went on: "Make no bones about it. This is your last chance." The judge fined Sanderson £150 and told him it should be paid within six months or he would serve a sentence of five days.
Sanderson, of Timber Street, Brierfield, had appeared at Burnley Crown Court for breach of the requirements of a community service order.
Robert Crawford, prosecuting for the Probation Service, said it was the second time the defendant had breached the order. The first time he was fined by magistrates who allowed the order to continue.
