WOMEN under stress or wishing to make positive changes in their lives can be supported by a new range of services being launched by Leigh Well Women Centre.

Bookings are now being made for ten weekly workshops for women to promote their self esteem. Sessions will focus on self-image and self-belief, and how these can be improved.

The workshops will start in September and run on a rolling basis.

A new one-to-one counselling service will provide women with an opportunity to talk through situations or difficulties causing anxiety or distress. This confidential service will be available, by appointment only, on Thursdays, starting in September.

A women's group has also recently been formed by request for women to meet informally on a monthly basis. All women are welcome.

Barbara Berrie, Well Women Centre Co-ordinator, said: "Many women have to cope with difficult life events such as divorce and bereavement, or feelings of low self esteem which do not fit neatly into services offered by other support agencies.

"The Well Women Centre, through these initiatives, wanted to allow women from all walks of life to explore these feelings and move forward in a friendly, non-judgmental setting."

These services are being offered in addition to the Well Women Centre's range of health, education and support services, which aim to promote positive health care for women.
