ST HELENS racing cyclist Andy Tinsley notched up his best ride for some time when he snatched second spot in the hotly-contested North West Divisional championships in Delamere.
Andy who was one of the country's leading elite riders before a freak holiday accident set him back, has been steadily riding into form with the Paul Moy team.
In the testing 84-mile marathon, he collared another local rider, Steve Stoneman (Hewitt Cycles) from Ashton to take the silver medal behind winner Gethin Butler.
