NORTH WEST brewers Burtonwood has announced a 13.7 per cent increase in pre-tax profits to a record £7.21 million in the past year.
The brewery, which operates pubs throughout Lancashire, has declared a final dividend of 5.6p per share, a 12 per cent rise on the previous year.
Managing director Lynne D'Arcy said the company's performance had been driven by further investment in its pubs.
"Average turnover per pub increased in both the tenanted and managed estates," she said.
"We have made a solid start to the year and the benefit of last year's investment programme, together with the acquisition of additional pubs since the year end, should provide a platform for further profit growth."
