MORE than half a million pounds is to be spent on a major refurbishment of the Bull's Head pub in Astley Straits.
Plans are to re-open the pub in September, with a welcoming new look, and to employ about 25 staff.
Bull's Head owner Ember Inns says the new look, with open fires, leather sofas, cosy corners and a terrace, has been designed to create a 'home from home'.
For those who enjoy relaxing without the distraction of young children, the Ember Inns Pub only welcomes children over 14 who are eating a meal with an adult.
Ember Inns retail business manager Tom Howarth said: "We are looking for rather special people to provide exceptional service and an important skill needed by all staff is that they are good at talking to guests. A recent survey shows that the pub is the most popular place to talk with friends, so we're determined to provide the best pub for just that."
