A MAN has been arrested and released on police bail following an alleged rape in Accrington town centre.
The alleged incident took place in Back Willow Street between 11pm and midnight last Sunday.
The 22-year-old man, who is not local, was arrested in West Yorkshire on Tuesday and interviewed by police before being released pending further enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Jim Elston, heading the investigation, has appealed for any witnesses to contact police on 01254 353742.
