A PROJECT aimed at raising the effectiveness and profile of the voluntary and community sector in Rossendale will be holding a thank-you evening next Friday.
RUBIC -- Rossendale Unite Building Integrated Capacity -- was funded by a grant from the European Social Fund.
The presentation and thank-you evening will be at the Rawtenstall site of Accrington and Rossendale College at 7pm when the Mayor of Rossendale Coun Jimmy Grogan will present certificates to voluntary and community groups which are linked with RUBIC and have enrolled on courses.
Over the last six months, the project has raised the profile and effectiveness of the voluntary and community sector by linking volunteers to training courses. It has also led to an increase in the number of volunteers in Rossendale and has improved communication between groups.
