FILMING is well under way in Rossendale for a new emotionally charged two-part thriller Blood Strangers featuring popular actress Caroline Quentin.

Cameras were rolling in Edgeside Park last week and will be moving on to the Pennine Road Estate, where two council houses on Hawthorn Road will be taken over and one will be 'set on fire'.

The Granada TV drama looks at the devastating effect of teenage prostitution on two respectable British families.

It begins production on location in Lancashire and is due for transmission on ITV in early 2002.

Lin Beresford and her two children live happily in a picturesque town, until Lin receives news that in a single minute rips her world apart. Her 14-year-old daughter Emma has been found dead on a patch of common ground near their home.

Nothing could be worse than the death of a child, or so Lin believes -- until she is delivered a further terrible blow when she discovers Emma was a prostitute.

Unable to accept what she's been told, Lin embarks on a search for the truth that ultimately brings her face to face with her daughter's killer.
