A MASSIVE £28,000 was raised by the series of 'Going for Goal' events held around the region, including Victoria Square, St Helens. The money will be divided among hospices in Merseyside, Lancashire and Cheshire with Willowbrook Hospice receiving a share of around £11,000.
The event, which St Helens Council helped to organise, gave local people the chance to beat a goalkeeper by taking three penalties for a £1 donation.
