BLACKBURN-based insurance brokers Warren Hill have warned commercial policyholders with the collapsed Independent Insurance Group that they may no longer be covered.
The company says it has been swamped by calls from worried policyholders after the insurer was put into liquidation.
Warren Hill regional manager Jimmy Ahern said the Policyholders Protection Act provided comfort for individuals, who were entitled to settlement in full for compulsory insurances such as third party motor and employers' liability.
Commercial policyholders were likely to be less fortunate and should contact their insurance adviser with a view to taking out a new policy.
