KRISTOFER Marc Parkinson was caught driving while disqualified three times in two days.

Blackburn magistrates heard that it was a case of going from one extreme to another for the 18-year-old with no previous convictions.

And his actions, coupled with his failure to co-operate with the preparation of pre-sentence reports landed Parkinson behind bars.

Parkinson, 18, of Scotland Bank Terrace, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to three offences of driving while disqualified and associated document offences. He was remanded in custody until July 10 for the preparation of pre-sentence reports.

David Hartley, prosecuting, said Parkinson was first stopped at 2.55am and charged with driving while disqualified. He was released on bail and at 5.15am the same officer saw Parkinson driving the same vehicle. He was arrested and put before the court and, after being released on bail, was seen driving again the following day.

Stephen Parker, defending, said Parkinson's criminal career had gone from one extreme to another in the space of two days.

He said the first time Parkinson was stopped he was not aware he was disqualified because the ban had been imposed in his absence for motoring offences. Having been charged he returned to his car, which was on double yellow lines, and decided to move it.

"The officer who arrested him earlier probably could not believe his eyes when he saw my client driving the same car," said Mr Parker.
