CLITHEROE have been give a massive pre-season boost after the 58-goal strikeforce of Lee Cryer and Neil Spencer committed their future to the club.

The ace marksmen, who both scored 29 goals last season, have signed again for the Shawbridge club -- along with the entire squad that finished runners-up to Rossendale United in NWCL Division One.

Manager Dave Burgess revealed that Cryer and Spencer had been chased by a number of higher division clubs.

He said: "It is a massive boost for us and for everyone involved in the club that they have decided to re-sign.

"A number of clubs have been interested in them but they have decided to stay here."

Burgess said that the club is also hoping to add players to strengthen the squad before the new campaign begins.
