MILKMEN in East Lancashire were to deliver doorstep pints with a difference.
Blackburn brewers Thwaites teamed up with Associated Dairies to launch a pioneering scheme to deliver ale to homes.
But the plan brought little cheer to furious landlords who said the public could buy the beer cheaper than they could from the brewery.
