ROVERS should find out in the middle of next week whether they have been successful in their pursuit of Rangers midfielder Tugay Terimoglu.

Blackburn were knocked back in their initial bid to sign the Turkish international when he was refused a work permit.

But the club's appeal will be heard next week and Tugay will then complete a £1.3 million move to Ewood Park if Rovers get the verdict from the Department of Employment.

A three-man delegation of boss Graeme Souness, chief executive John Williams and secretary Tom Finn will present Rovers' argument to the review panel, pointing out that despite just falling short of the required number of appearances for his country in the past year, Tugay is an established international player currently holding a work permit to play with Rangers.

"We feel we have got a very good case," said Williams.

Tugay will become Blackburn's third summer signing if things goes Rovers way and further transfer activity may also wait until next week when Souness's squad reports back for pre-season training.

Wolves are the latest club to have been linked with a move for striker Nathan Blake but the Midlanders have not made a bid, leaving Coventry and Crystal Palace at the head of the queue.
