CREATIVE youngsters at a before-and-after school club in Nelson have won an award for a garden created in the school grounds.
The children from The Rocking Horse Club, based at Walton Lane Nursery School, won a Spring Greens award of £250 from the Nescafe Kids Club Challenge.
They submitted their plans for the garden three months ago and heard nothing until they were told they had won an award.
Headteacher Audrey Wilson said: "We are delighted. We don't have money to buy quality resources so this will be used to buy toys for the children."
The club gives parents the opportunity to leave their children at 7.30am and collect them up to 5.30pm.
