FORMER North end winger Tommy Hough has died aged 79. Famous for once keeping Sir Tom Finney out of a Preston football team. Tom Hough reached almost legendary status in the town as he kept Sir Tom out of the Preston schoolboys side 65 years ago.
The pair first played together in the schools team and were then reacquainted at North End, where Hough's ability on the left flank resulted in Finney moving to the right wing.
Sir Tom paid remained friends with Tom, who passed away after a short illness.
