YOUNGSTERS due to leave St Edward Primary School in Darwen this summer have been away on an action-packed, three-day residential course at Kendal.
The course, Visions of Tomorrow, was organised by the Salford Diocesan Youth Service and school staff to help prepare pupils for moving on to high school.
Thirty pupils took part in a range of demanding activities designed to improve teamwork, communication and decision-making skills.
Bob Beardsworth,Youth officer for the Salford diocese, said: "The young people worked enthusiastically and developed new skills through their efforts.
"I hope when they move on to high school they will be more confident in relating to others."
Blackburn-born Danny Bradley, a lecturer at St Martin's College, Lancaster, involved the young people in drugs education and they produced story boards outlining the dangers of drug taking.
