PARENTS of primary school children are to get a tasty school meals treat with the news there will be no price rise for the next 12 months.
The cost of a mid-day meal in primary schools is to remain at £1.38 for the coming year.
Councillor Steve Perkins, executive member for lifelong learning, said: "Mums and dads can send their children to school knowing that they will be getting a well-balanced and thought-out meal which they will also enjoy. Earlier this year we brought our menus into line with the new Nutritional Standards and these will also be maintained."

IT is not such good news for parents whose children are in secondary schools. The price of the standard meal is going up by 4p to £1.53 on September 1.
