I WRITE in response to the letter (June 15) from D. E. Armsbey suggesting that David Chaytor MP might now consider moving into the constituency.
I was an undecided voter in this year's election, but when it came to voting day and only one of the three candidates actually lived in Bury, I was disgusted. Guess who got my vote? What chance has Bury of having its voice heard when the MP isn't even affected by any changes that might happen to the local community.
I think that living in the community an MP will serve should be a condition of standing. I am sure there are many people who feel as strongly as I do and would welcome David Chaytor's comments.
CHARLOTTE BRADSHAW,
Elton, Bury.
