HOUSING bosses have agreed to move a mother and her young son into a new home after they witnessed an incident in which two men sustained stab injuries.

Gillian Moss, 26, and her three-year old son, James, watched as the two men lay bleeding on the pavement outside their flat in Brookway on Blackburn's Livesey estate.

Carl Parkinson, 19, and Stephen Ainsworth, 24, were admitted to Blackburn Royal Infirmary last Saturday night. Carl had 42 staples put in his chest and stomach.

Stephen was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for an operation after the knife grazed his heart and liver. A 28-year-old man has appeared in court charged with two counts of wounding.

Gillian she said: "I am at the end of my tether. There is an incident every night but nothing is done about it. "

"This road is a nightmare. I want to move away from Brookway but stay in the same area as my son's school and my job are both nearby.

"James has not slept since Saturday night and he has started wetting the bed, which he has never done before."

Houses on the estate are managed by Twin Valley Homes. Director of Housing, Gwyneth Sarkar said: "A decision was made yesterday morning to move Gillian and she has been told this.

"We have had some problems on the estate, but we are working with the police to try and sort them out.

"Gillian has been given priority and as soon as a property becomes available in the area she has indicated she would like to move to, she will be moved."
