DAMIEN Youds' 18th birthday bash ended in police cells and a state of alcohol-induced amnesia.

Youds told Blackburn magistrates that his sister had arranged a surprise party for him and people had been handing him drinks all night.

"I don't even remember coming into town," he told the court. "I thought I had been arrested from my do."

Youds, of Manxman Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £55 costs.
