REGARDING the unkind remarks by Mr Danny Brierley (LET, July 7) about Pitchers Bar in Blackburn, I don't know what day or time he went in for a meal.

My husband and I go in for a meal at lunchtime. I place my order with the waitress then go to the other bar for a drink for my husband, where I am served with no problem by the bar staff.

When I take my seat, my soup and roll is brought over complete with knife and spoon, wrapped in a serviette with extra serviette for my own use.

Then follows my hubby's meal, brought over by a lovely waitress who asks is everything all right. Later my tea is brought over in the same courteous manner.

Other diners round us always say they really enjoy it.

As for the colour in the bar, they seem to be the trend in lots of places, so our marks given for everything are a lot higher than Danny Brierley's.
