ALAN Kelly's proposed £600,000 switch to Tottenham is in danger of collapsing after the latest round of talks broke down yesterday.

Republic of Ireland international Kelly had packed his bags and travelled south expecting to complete the formalities of a move.

But, after an hour-long meeting with Spurs director of football David Pleat, he was back at his home in the North West today insisting the goalposts had changed considerably.

"It's all up in the air again now," said Kelly.

"I'd said all my goodbyes to everyone at Blackburn and travelled down there just assuming it was all a formality, really.

"But when I got down there and met the chairman and David Pleat, I found the goalposts had changed substantially so I jumped in my car and headed back home.

"It was all quite a shock to be honest.

"But it's not dead and buried. I didn't storm off or anything like that.

"It's been left open and we've now got to see what happens in the next few days."
