FIVE young carers from East Lancashire were among more than 1,400 who attended an event in Southampton earlier this month.
Along with a worker from the Young Carers Link, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley, the five joined youngsters, aged from ten to 17, for a weekend of fun at the event organised by the YMCA and The Children's Society.
The programme included outdoor and adventurous activities, as well as art and music workshops, and the idea was to share experiences and make new friends.
A 'Voice Zone' gave youngsters the opportunity to have their say through interactive media activities and provided a channel for them to make their views known to the government.
