I AM writing about the proposed closure of Parr High School, and the bird-brained idea the LEA and council have come up with to close the school and send our children to a school none of them want to go to.

Not only that, when they get there they are going to put them in to portable buildings.

I am sure it would be better to bring our school up to scratch. I think with Mr Blair's election promises of education, education, education, funding wouldn't be a problem.

Our local councillor didn't even attend the public meeting held at the school to listen to the parents' views, but went to the town hall and stuck his hand up and voted to close it.

I think it's time Mr Watts and Mr Woodward stepped in to help us keep it open.

VERY angry mother (name and address supplied).
