SOCCER mad kids from across Lancashire are being given the chance to study the history of football and brush up on their school work at the newly opened National Football Museum.

The museum at Preston North End's Deepdale stadium is launching a joint initiative with the University of Central Lancashire and the Preston Education Action Zone.

The Department of Education funded the programme of events which will use the National Football archives and collections to address the underachievement and disaffection felt by many children in urban areas.
