CHILDREN from Walton-le-Dale primary school turned out in force on for a sports day in honour of a long-serving member of staff.
Edna Smith has chalked-up more than 15-years at the Severn Drive school -- longer than any other member of staff.
But now hardworking Edna, 60, from Lostock Hall, will bid farewell to children and staff tomorrow (Friday) when she retires.
To mark the special teacher's last week in school children and staff dedicated their sports day to Edna who cut the ribbon to open the event and presented a special cup -- the Edna Smith Sports Day trophy -- to the winning team.
