THE TRANSFER of Brian McBride from Columbus Crew to Preston is on temporary hold as McBride is playing in the MLS in the USA until September, and could continue for up to another four months depending on if Columbus Crew make the playoffs, which they failed to last season.
Preston have refused to comment on speculation that they are prepared to bid £1.8m bid for the highly rated striker.
