I COULDN'T believe my eyes when I read that Bury Council have spent £250 on a car registration number (T6 BUR) for the mayoral limo.
They have wasted £250 at a time when they are cutting services because they don't have enough money to run them. I suggest the council and its councillors take a good look at the area and then put such money to better use.
The roads are a disgrace, litter lines the streets, the list goes on and on. On several occasions I have asked Bury Council to introduce traffic calming measures on Hazel Road, Whitefield, which speeding cars use as a short-cut. Their answer is always that they don't have enough money.
I suggest these councillors take a good look in the mirror and ask the question: mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the barmiest of them all?
