A RAINFORD pub recently received a Food Hygiene Award, after attaining levels of hygiene over and above those required by the local council.
The Bottle & Glass, on St Helens Road, was awarded the certificate following a visit by council health inspectors during one of their routine assessments. In total 19 food businesses were awarded the certificate which included only one other pub and landlord and landlady, Frank and Sue Ryder, are suitably proud of their achievement.
Sue said: "We always ensure that the pub maintains excellent standards in terms of cleanliness and hygiene. To receive such an award is a great achievement for everyone involved at the pub and we're all very proud".
