A FORMER teacher from Rivington High School has been appointed as the Ravenhead Community Trust Director by Shaun Woodward, Labour MP for St Helens South.
Kim Maxwell will now be working with Shaun and other trustees to co-ordinate all fundraising activities, including the organisation of four key benefit events involving local and national celebrities.
The Ravenhead Community Trust was launched in June to raise much needed funds to help former Ravenhead workers.
Over 300 workers not only lost their livelihoods when the factory closed earlier this year, but also faced the devastating prospect of having their pensions reduced by as much as 30 per cent, due to a £5 million black hole in the Company pension Plan.
