GOD'S TEXT MESSAGES

"I'll text you on my mobile."

For millions of couples in love, a text helps them survive during times of separation. In our home, we have a calendar that displays a Bible text every day from somebody who loves us.

It has been said that, "A text a day keeps the devil away!" A century and more ago, Bible texts were embroidered by children and framed as samplers. These can often be seen in museums and old houses. Millions memorised these texts from God's textbook and they played an enormous part in moulding Christian character and improving morality.

Text messages could be accessed electronically, so how about having a voice-mail bank of appropriate Bible texts to suit our various needs?

For example:

PUZZLED? Try code Proverbs chapter 3 verses 5 & 6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

WORRIED? Try code Philippians chapter 3 verses 6 & 7: "Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

REVENGEFUL? Try code Romans chapter 12 verse 21: "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

THE WAY TO HEAVEN? Try code John chapter 3 verse 16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

AFRAID TO DIE? Try code John chapter 11 verses 25 & 26: "Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though He may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die."

There is a disease known as text blindness, so pray that God will open your eyes to see the truth in His texts.
