HOW do teenagers drive round with such loud, thumping music blasting in their eardrums?

In the hot weather this week, there was a crowd of us waiting to cross at Leigh's Turnpike and we were entertained by the noisiest music I've ever heard, emanating from a vehicle containing two girls.

It's no wonder they're bonkers.

It's only showing off to attract passers-by. In my sports car heyday, I used to do it. But my favourite assault on other people's ears was the wonderful Edith Piaf's Non, Je Ne Regret Rien.

They must have thought I'd really blown 'em.
