BURNLEY manager Stan Ternent could have the problem of international call-ups to deal with this season.

New signing Dimitri Papadopoulos is a Greek Under 21 international and will be returning to Athens this weekend with a view to be selected for the side which will face Finland in Helsinki later on in the year.

His fellow countryman goalkeeper Nik Michopoulos is on the fringes of the full Greek squad while striker Gareth Taylor is hoping to increase his tally of Welsh caps.

Winger Alan Moore, who is currently on trial at Turf Moor but has impressed during the three games he has played, is a Republic of Ireland international.

"I could have a number of internationals this season which would pose a selection problem but it is a nice headache to have," said manager Stan Ternent.

"If you have more than three then you can alter your fixtures and we could have that this season. "

Papadopoulos, bought for £500,000 this week, has returned to his homeland for the weekend but will be back for the friendly against Premier side Everton on Tuesday night at Turf Moor when he is set to make his debut once the international clearance has come through.

He has been getting to know his team-mates with the help of Michopoulos and the second choice keeper, Greek-Italian Luigi Cennamo.

"They have been helping him settle in," said the manager.

"We will have Dimitri back for the Everton game and he has not played so he will probably feature against them."

The Clarets, meanwhile, are preparing for tomorrow afternoon's Isle of Man tournament final where they will face Second Division Wrexham.

Who unexpectedly won through to the final last night with a 5-0 drubbing of the Isle of Man.

A number of Burnley fans are expected to arrive on the island for the final.

"I hope they do," said the Clarets boss, whose side have defeated Wrexham and the Isle of Man in the competition earlier this week.

"It has been a good tournament so far, the weather has been nice, the place is terrific and I hope the fans that are here have had a good week.

"And now they get to see another game.

"The results aren't important but it does help when you win. And it is always nice to reach a final."

With three games under the players' belts, Ternent confirmed things are starting to come together.

"I have seen one or two good things and some things which we will have to work on," said the boss.

"I think we have defended very well and have passed the ball around quite well although it has been difficult as the surface is uneven.

"I have swapped and changed things around, putting on five substitutes to make sure everyone has a game, and there's no doubt they have all benefited from the trip over here."
