RECORD-BREAKING full-back Neil Turley has scored another hat-trick for the Leigh Centurions.

The 21-year-old scooped all the major awards at the annual NFP ceremony at Widnes.

He was named NFP player of the year following a season in which he scored a phenomenal 56 tries and made his Lancashire debut.

Turley, who smashed both the Leigh's try-scoring record and set a new mark for the number of tries scored by a full-back, was also named young player of the year and handed the players' player of the year award sponsored by the GMB and Rugby League Players Association.

Turley's club coach Paul Terzis held off the challenge of Mike Ford (Oldham) and Martin Hall (Rochdale) to pick up the coach of the year award.

Terzis and Turley followed in the footsteps of Ian Millward and Stuart Donlan who won coach of the year and young player of the year two seasons ago.

To make it a virtual clean sweep by the Centurions, Turley was joined in the NFP team of the year by clubmates Simon Svabic and Simon Baldwin.

Sheffield Eagles, who were play-off contenders in only the second season since their re-formation, were named club of the year while Richard Silverwood, of Mirfield, is referee of the year.

NFP All Stars team: N Turley (Leigh); M Billy (Rochdale), B O'Meara (Rochdale), M Nanyn (Swinton), G Lewthwaite (Workington); S Svabic (Leigh), J Rooney (Featherstone); D Sculthorpe (Rochdale), P Cantillon (Widnes), S Knox (Widnes), P Farrell (Oldham), S Baldwin (Leigh), R Goddard (Sheffield).

Terzis said: "I honestly didn't expect to win, especially after being knocked out of the play-offs last weekend. I thought it might have gone to Martin Hall. It made up a little bit for Sunday's disappointment, but not much.

"I'm delighted for Neil, he's had a great season and now he's reaped the rewards."
